Q. What is DSL?
A. DSL is digital signaling technology
that turns an existing phone line into a
high-speed data delivery system. We use
this technology to send high-speed
Internet access to your home 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
Q. What affects my connection speed?
A. When you connect to the Internet
using DSL, the speed that you get will
vary based on a variety of factors, such
as:
1. Length
of the telephone line.
2. Condition
of telephone wiring inside and outside
your location.
3. Computer
configuration.
4.
Network
or Internet congestion.
5.
Server and router speeds of the web
sites you access.
Q. Will I be assigned a new IP address
each time I sign on?
A. Yes. IP addresses are dynamically
assigned to Residential DSL customers.
Q. What equipment do I need?
A. You need a network card and a DSL
modem.
Q. Can I talk on the phone and use DSL
Internet at the same time?
A. Yes, you can use your phone line for
voice and utilize the Internet
simultaneously when you have DSL. There
is no need to get a new phone line to
use your DSL service.
