ITC
participates in the Open Recruitment Day at King Fahad
University
The
Integrated Telecommunication Company participated in the
Open Day for Recruitment at King Fahad University of
Petroleum and Minerals that took place from 7-9 January 2008
under the patronage of the University’s Rector and with the
presence of a selected number of national and international
firms.
In a tour
among the various parts of the exhibition, Dr. Khalid
Al-Sultan, Rector of KFUPM, applauded ITC’s participation
and the company’s efforts in creating job opportunities for
the Saudi youth. He further appreciated the interaction of
the representatives of the private sector with the
educational institutions towards the training of the
ambitious young Saudis and creating conducive environment
for realization of aspirations in leading companies that
offer career stability.
On the
other hand, Mr. Raid Dawood, Director of Human Resources at
ITC, maintained that their participation in the event came
in conformity with their Saudization strategy and as part of
a comprehensive training program to build the capabilities
and recruit young graduates in diverse administrative,
marketing, financial and technical fields of work. The
targeted sectors are those of telecommunication,
audio-visual and broad-band internet areas applying modern
telecommunication media. In fact, such sectors are presently
lacking in the Saudi specialized personnel.
Mr. Al-Dawood
further added that the Open Recruitment Day is an important
occasion to meet Saudi youth who would like to get
recruited, receive their applications, get to know their
professional and career trends and introduce ITC to them. He
elaborated that ITC has found a great interest on the side
of the new graduates to joint the firm, which is viewed as
one of the leading companies in this key sector. He
expressed appreciation for the parties in organizing the
event, with particular reference to the KFUPM’s management
that took the initiative based on its social responsibility
as well as its intimate link with the Saudis.
It is
noteworthy that the participation of ITC in the event was
preceded by reaching a cooperation agreement with the Saudi
Human Resources Development Fund to train and recruit 80
young Saudis in the various specialties within the company.
